Signs Of Spanish/Portuguese Victory In World Cup Bid

Saturday, December 18th, 2010

English football fans hoping for a summer of Football come 2018 may be better off heading to sunny southern-Europe if the latest gaffe from Fifa executives is anything to go by.

It’ll be Portuguese mortgages for the Football faithful, so long as a note said to have been written by Spanish executive Angel Villa Llona to Mohamaed Bin Hammam (representative for Qatar) is genuine. Saying ‘vamos a ganar’, the note is being interpreted as an admission of collusion between the two nations, who have already been accused of trying to manipulate votes to bring the 2018 World Cup to Spain and Portugal and the following 2022 World Cup to Qatar. However, all promise of sanctions against the countries for their collusion has been dropped by Fifa.

The English bid has been losing popularity and credibility in recent weeks, whilst the Portuguese / Spanish bid gains in popularity alongside the rival Russian bid. The English bid has suffered in the wake of newspaper investigations into Fifa conduct. Reporters posed as a party interested in bring the World Cup to the United States, and managed to catch the Nigerian and Tahitian members pledging votes in return for bribes.

Attempting to heal the supposed rift, David Cameron has been lobbying other world leaders at the G20 summit in Seoul. He has subsequently vowed to travel to Zurich to speak with the Fifa leaders ahead of the December 2nd vote that will decide hosting for both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Having already secured the 2012 Olympics, the United Kingdom sees hosting the World Cup as particularly appealing as it will be able to double up on the development of certain facilities.

The Portuguese/Spanish bid on the other hand would see a new host-nation (The Spanish hosted in 1982) giving a freshness to their bid. As reigning World Champions, the Spanish are doubly popular for selection as future World Cup hosts. Considering how likely it now seem that the World Cup will travel South for 2018, it’s unsuprising to see so many English people looking up the strange art of Portugal property finance.

The English football staff have managed to reach the quarter finals of the Fifa World Cup, will this finally be the year that soccer comes again house for the primary time since 1966? Despite not enjoying their greatest football, England are still in the event and will need to have a great chance of lifting the trophy.

Some may say that I’m biased as I am from England myself and am an avid England supporter, nonetheless I actually feel that 2006 could be the year for our boys out there in Germany. This may of course be all blown away on Saturday when the staff face Portugal and big Phil Scolari. Scolari has been the manager of the last groups who’ve knocked England out of the last two main tournaments and therefore will pose a giant threat to my team. He was the supervisor of the Brazil workforce that beat England within the 2002 World Cup and he was and nonetheless is the manager of the Portugal crew that beat England in the 2004 European Championship. I am hoping that it will be third time lucky for the English this year.

To say that England are but to peak is a bit of an understatement as they’ve in fact been nicely below par. This could nonetheless be fairly a very good thing, how many instances have Germany scraped by way of to the ultimate phases of the event with out thrilling the crowds?

With Wayne Rooney becoming stronger and fitter this needs to be one of the best alternative that England has had for fairly some time. There are a lot of leaders and potential captains within the English team. Gamers like John Terry, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard would all make worthy captains when David Beckham decides to surrender this role. As well as potential captains, these gamers are also what I name winners and when push involves shove hopefully will ship the goods.

Argentina, Brazil and Germany might prove to be the largest dangers to England. After a gradual start Ronaldo seems to have found his scoring boots again and the Brazil staff has some great gamers all around the park. I’ve to say that I am getting quite bored of them winning however, surely its the flip of England this time around.

Germany have performed some great soccer on their residence turf and seem to building up a head of steam. They might show quite difficult to stop and all the time seem to do effectively within the World Cup.

Many individuals would argue that Argentina have probably played the most effective football so far and that they are worthy favourites. I must agree with this and simply hope that they’ve peaked too soon.

It definitely can be an awesome summer in England if our staff can carry football house to where it belongs this year. Good luck England.

Has The Internet Made Our World Cup Better?

Spain vs Germany 2010

After watching last nights long awaited world cup semi final between the current european champions Spain and the impressive, high goal scoring Germany, which I must say was a very tense match especially as I was watching it with a spaniard who was endlessly shouting at the television thinking he was really there in the staduim.

At the half time break the score was still an agonising 0-0 and during the tv adverts there was a constant push for Internet Marketing of the world cup where so much information is accessible online these days, for example if you had missed any of the previous games you were able to watch them on the internet, being able to view all the live match statistics as well as join an online forum to discuss your own thoughts and post your own comments.

The world cup in South Africa has been such a hit and boost for the countries economy, especially due to the large increase in tourism during the football.

So many online business have made a success throughout the time of the World Cup in South Africa, not only through travel and football merchandise but common accessories such as those noisy trumpets they call a vuvuzela which i saw for sale in my village shop, i didnt buy one as i intend on keeping my friends!

If you are lucky enough to visit Durban I recommend you visit the newly-built Moses Mabhida football stadium, as this was one of the most impressive i saw on tv during the World Cup. My friend was visiting his parents and got to seesaw Spain play there first game against Switzerland which they were to get defeated there..

Talking to a friend after the match who works for a company who specialise in Ecommerce website design he was sure that the Netherlands were going to win the final.

Some of the football sites also have some fantastic web design too!

Replacing The Old Guard : Who Can Italy Look To For Euro 2012 And World Cup 2014?

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Marcelo Lippi’s current Italian squad has been criticised by several soccer pundits as being too old.  The team is very likely to be fairly new by the Brazilian World Cup, when athletes such as 32 year-old Gianluigi Buffon, 36 year-old Fabio Cannavaro, 32 year-old Gennaro Gattuso, and other players like Andrea Pirlo (31), Gianluca Zambrotta (33), Vincenzo Iaquinta (30), Mauro Camoranesi (33), and Antonio Di Natale (32) are sure to be gone from the team.  Who will Lippi or his successor choose to replace the team?

Lorenzo De Silvestri    Defender     (Fiorentina)    Aged 22
The former Lazio full back cuts an imposing figure for a full back at just over six feet tall.  After a 2009 move to Fiorentina, De Silvestri has exemplified the form that set him apart whilst playing for Italy’s U16 and U21 teams. With such a solid basis in the skills necessary to become a good fullback, De Silvestri might end up replacing Gianluca Zambrotta for the national team.

Davide Santon        Defender    (Inter)        Aged 19
Santon, who played for Inter in 28 games and Azzuri in five, has set himself apart as an excellent defender with an ability to play either flank with ease. Santon’s energy is boundless; his energy on the pitch has earned him a comparison to Paolo Maldini by Italian head coach Marcelo Lippi. Technically sound too, Santon, barring injury and a dramatic loss of form, should be a member of the next few Italian squads at major finals events.

Mario Balotelli        (Striker)    (Inter)        Aged 19
Inter’s hot headed and often temperamental striker can play anywhere in attack or as a winger and has been heralded as one of the brightest hopes wearing the Italy soccer jersey for a generation.  We may have to forgive Batelli for his disgruntled outbursts at fans and management: in 59 games, he scored twenty goals and notched 6 in 16 for the Italian U21 team. His time will surely come in the Euro 2012 qualifiers when Italy are going to need a new look strike force.

Federico Macheda    (Striker)    (Man Utd)    Aged 18
Despite Macheda’s failure to make first team at Old Trafford, soccer pundits agree that Man United’s striker could make a name for himself in the 2010-2011 season, and even gain the attention of Azzuri management. Macheda’s strength as a striker coupled with his intelligence gives him a boost in scoring goals. Particularly good with his back to goal, he has already been capped at U21 level for Italy and if he can start to make a bigger impact in the United first team, full honours should soon follow.

Antonio Candreva    (Midfielder)    Udinese    Aged 23
Finding a replacement for Andrea Pirlo may be the Italian sides greatest challenge in the next few years and one possible replacement could be Candreva. The Udinese midfielder follows in the footsteps of Pirlo’s creative play, owning any position on the midfield.
