Forecasting or guessing which national team is going to win 2010 World Cup in South Africa is not easy at all. Experienced football fans when it comes to have a say always find it hard as it is a competition where many things depend on the form of the squads during 20 days. Current world cup winners have failed to qualify to the next round several times and it is that element of surprise that adds to the magic of the competition.
South Korea is the best example of the latter who managed to make it all the way to the semis in the 2002 competition, beating Italy. How many people could really predict that Italy was going to win the 2006 competition?? Definitely there are some favourites but that doesn’t mean that other minor teams shouldn’t have any chance at all. Historically, Brazil are the biggest favourites just because they have participated in all competitions and have won the trophy more times (5) that any other team. Italy – as the current trophy holders and Germany follow, because of the amount of times they have managed to reach the final. Germany because of their consistency, Italy because they are the previous winners, and England because one day they will win it again.
Get ready for another memorable competition, especially after experts have fore-casted that summer to be one of the hottest ever. There’s nothing better than watching one of those games outdoors, either at a friend’s garden or at the backyard of a pub or a restaurant. What you need is a big balcony, some volunteers to prepare the bbq, a big TV screen, a pair of wireless outdoor speakers and some good company. It would be fun even for the kids as they love being outdoors, running, jumping and playing with their remote control helicopter or if you are lucky, just watch the game.
We are all looking forward to a great competition, where hopefully the best team is going to win and all those great players will offer unforgettable moments. So let’s get ready then!
