Kids Soccer Drills

A good number of you might be wondering what on earth could be so big to get the team on a losing track. Okay then, let it be known that reasons are countless.

You will have to work very watchfully and advantageously in designing soccer drills for kids. It’s very important for you know the kid’s psychology. Speak with them in a language that they can understand well. But unfortunately, many coaches are unprepared to adjust to it. They do not appreciate the difference between coaching the kids and coaching mature players.

So there you have it; top faults of coaches that bring the teams to a point, from where it’s near impossible to get back on to the winning track.

1. To many coaches, their job appears to be very simple. They don’t arrange the drills, refuse to plan their sessions, and are always late in getting to the field. Such behavior is bad and also has the potential to sadden the kids. Just like the kids, you too should get serious about soccer. Make arrangements for youth soccer drills beforehand. Put together all kinds of equipments which you would need to accomplish the drills.

Be on time. Don’t be the one to reach the field later than the kids. Well in fact, grace the filed with your presence when kids reach. This will also give you some time to rehearse the drills or arrange for things.

2. When the coaches deliver the instructions before the kids soccer drills, they tend to take a lot of time. Have you ever imagined how torturous that can be! You must appreciate that kids are more eager to play than hearing long speeches. Keep your instructions brief and to the point. Use this opportunity to talk to the kids about the strategy and styles that the kids should learn.

Also, do not interrupt the kids when they are playing. If there is something that you need to tell the kids, wait for the session to end. Also, observe the kids from outside when they are playing.

3. Some coaches tend to get emotional or abusive with the players. In soccer drills for youth, both the traits are self-destructive. It is never a good idea to show your emotions on the field. It is natural for the kids to make errors on the field. Do not forget that they are children. You should not take it seriously and get offensive with the players.

In such a situation, you disengage the kids from the game and also create problems for yourself. Soccer is about mind games. Make the kids realize this and you would have motivated them.

Just don’t let these problems of kids soccer drills affect you and you are a winner.
